About us...

The SEANES was founded on 22 October, 2008 in Bangkok, Thailand. It is a voluntary, non-profit-making organization which brings together Ergonomics and Human Factors Societies Ergonomics in Southeast Asian countries, and is made up of the Perhimpunan Ergonomi Indonesia, the Ergonomics Society of Singapore, the Ergonomics Society of Thailand, the Philippine Ergonomics Society, and Human Factors/Ergonomics Interest Groups in Malaysia.

Seanes is is a network of Human Factors/Ergonomics societies and Ergonomics interest groups inĀ  Southeast Asian countries with the main purpose of cooperation and reciprocal support between them, for scientific and professional development as well as the application of Ergonomics in Southeast Asia

In the implementation of its mission, the SEANES undertakes to support the dissemination and application of Human Factors/Ergonomics in South East Asia while seeking to cooperate in the social and economic development of its peoples, by means of the following objectives:

  • Fostering interest in learning and applying ergonomics;
  • Supporting the creation and development of new National Ergonomics Societies in South East Asian countries that do not have one, and
  • Coordination of meetings and interaction between members of the Network.
